New patient referrals are welcomed for all patients with malignant and non-malignant haematological disorders
NEW PATIENT REFERRALS
A written referral from a general practitioner or specialist is required for all new outpatient referrals. A valid current referral is necessary for you to be able to claim your Medicare rebate.
You will need a current referral when you attend for your consultation. A specialist referral will only last 3 months. Therefore you may need to obtain a 12-month or indefinite referral from your GP.
As long as you hold a current referral any hospital treatments you receive will be charged directly to your private health insurance. Please check with your insurance provider regarding any out-of-pocket expenses.
